Editorial methodology

Every claim of law is traced to a primary or officially reported source: HUDOC for the European Court of Human Rights, CURIA for the Court of Justice of the European Union, EUR-Lex for EU legislation, national court and gazette databases for national law, UNHCR and OHCHR for international guidance.

Country-of-origin information is triangulated between UNHCR, EUAA (European Union Agency for Asylum), OHCHR treaty-body outputs, national country policy notes and specialist human-rights organisations (ILGA World, ILGA-Europe, Human Dignity Trust, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, Rainbow Railroad, ORAM, Outright International).

Every page shows a "last reviewed" date. Where a page has not yet been reviewed by a jurisdiction-qualified counsel it is labelled: "Editorially researched; not yet reviewed by jurisdiction-qualified counsel."
